Dr Sachin Varma is a registered specialist with the General Dental Council (GDC) in prosthodontics. He obtained a Masters of Clinical Dentistry at Kings College, London where he still plays an active role in training dentists. His clinical work has been reviewed and assessed by world leaders in restorative dentistry at Guys Hospital. This has led to him being awarded the MRD, one of the most prestigious qualifications in restorative dentistry available. He gained the top marks in his masters thesis on the detection of dental decay; his work has since been presented and publicised internationally.
Sachin takes pride in providing specialist treatment for implants, crowns, bridges and dentures at CrownWood Dental Practice at general dentist's prices. He pays particular attention to the cosmetic, yet functional and realistic aspects of dentistry.
In his spare time he continually reads about specialist dentistry!.. That is if his mind isn't occupied by Manchester United or The England football team of course!

I first saw Dr Wong in 2009 with a view to resolving a number of long term problems I had with my teeth, namely, large gaps where I’d had a number of extractions along with bad discolouring of my two upper front teeth. Dr Wong referred me to a consultant, Dr Varma as it was clear that the resolution was not going to be straightforward.Between Dr Wong and Dr Varma, they explained to me the options available to me, how long it would take and what my expectations would be. They answered my questions and concerns in an extremely calm manner, making it clear to me at the outset that although it would be a long and, at times, painful road, I was in the best hands.
Throughout the program of treatment, they fully explained to me what stage we were at and what that particular step involved. I was given their contact details and insisted, throughout the time I was treated by them, that I should contact them at any time, even if was just a straightforward question or concern.
Due to previous bad experiences with other dental surgeries, I was understandably nervous about the treatment I was going to have. Dr Wong and Dr Varma both understood this and constantly assured me to the point where, amazingly, I actually looked forward to the next stage. Considering that, during nearly two years of treatment, I’ve had a number of implants, a bone graft, two bridges, a crown and a veneer this may sound very unlikely. However, both Dr Wong and Dr Varma’s constant personal attention proved extremely reassuring to me.
Even though I live in Southampton, I still travel 1 hour to Crown Wood Dental Surgery because of my experience there. It wasn’t easy. It was uncomfortable and painful at times. But I am amazed by the results. I would never have imagined that two years ago, I would have the results I have now. Before, I was so self-conscious of my teeth, I would cover my mouth with my hand when I talked to people. Having a photo of me smiling didn’t exist. Now, my self-confidence has practically changed my life. I’m constantly smiling now and so many people have commented on how much of a positive affect this has had on me.
As well as Dr Wong and Dr Varma, the rest of the staff of the surgery have also been so friendly. The receptionists, dental nurses and practice manager have been so supportive of me throughout my visits.
I am extremely grateful for everything Dr Wong and Dr Varma have done for me.

Further to the recent completion of my cosmetic dentistry work I thought I would write and let you know how pleased I am with the work both Dr Wong and Dr Varma have carried out.Having lived all my life with an undersized tooth, I never had the confidence to smile and as a nervous patient at the best of times I needed a lot of support from the outset. Through my various pre-procedure consultations, the initial preparatory work, fitting of the temporaries and the final permanent veneers, my experience has been relatively pain and discomfort free.
Whenever a minor issue has arisen this has been speedily dealt with without question, the care and support before, during and after procedure have been fantastic.
I am so pleased that I now have the confidence to smile and even be photographed and I have no doubt that having the procedure carried out has positively improved my life.

Dr Sachin Varma and Chi Wong (personal dentist) have worked together to complete my implant surgery. I lost one of my front teeth in a hockey accident several years ago. Due to travel commitments at the time, I had a temperary fix put in place, with the view to have an implant at a later date. The nature of my accident meant that this surgery had to take place over a number of months to allow for the best results.Before embarking on the Surgery, I looked at several practices closer to my home, however regardless of the extra travel times, I decided that I felt most comfortable with Chi and Sach. Crown Dental Practice also offered me a 'non-interest' package to help me finance the surgery. this, combined with the friendly staff, made the experience as easy as possible.
Sach always explained the procedures and why he was using certain techniques. This provided reassurance and at all times my best interests were considered. A high level of technical skill was demonstrated and Sach has a clear passion and enthusiasm for this surgery.
Sach and Chi always made themselves available after surgery, to answer any questions, or if I was experiencing any discomfort.
Additionally the Surgery always called me the following day after treatment to see how I was feeling; 'going the extra mile' add value and keeps long term relationships with clients. I have been very impressed with how I have been treated, and would highly recommend their services.
Aesthetically my teeth look great, the colour matching is perfect and the alignment is accurate. I am deeply grateful for the excellent service and overall result.
