It is possible to have a dental emergency at any time and we appreciate that these can be upsetting; our aim is to give quality emergency dental treatment as quickly and as efficiently as is possible.

What exactly is a dentist emergency?

A dental emergency is any dental issue that is causing you severe pain or badly interrupting your enjoyment of your day. Examples of problems that might require you to visit an emergency dental practice include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Teeth that have been knocked out
  • Teeth that have forcefully changed position
  • Teeth that are fractured

If you have cracked tooth or weakened teeth from an accident or from playing sport, we can offer same day crowns using advanced CEREC technology. You just attend your emergency appointment and on that visit, there are no impressions taken, no temporary crowns, no second injections, and less time in the dental chair.

An immediate, natural, new cermaic (metal-free) crown is made which is highly aesthetic and long-lasting.

What should I do when I phone an emergency dentist near me?

The most important thing you must do when a tooth is knocked out, damaged or out of position is to phone an emergency dentist as soon as you can, tell them what the problem is and make sure you have an appointment as soon as possible.

Once you have done that, there are a few things you can do that might help the dentist to save your teeth.

  • Find any missing teeth
  • Gently clean missing teeth and store them inside your mouth, between your gum and your cheek but not back in the socket
  • Gently reposition teeth that are out of place
  • Hold repositioned teeth in place with tissue
  • Clean any injuries to soft tissues in the mouth

What will happen at an emergency dental clinic appointment?

Your regular dentist may not be available and in order to get treatment as soon as possible it might be a case of, ‘any dentist in an emergency’.

At CrownWood Dental in Bracknell, Berkshire, we offer quality emergency dental care to all of our emergency cases.

We will take a thorough look at your mouth and ask you a few questions to ascertain exactly what treatment is required. Once we have done this, we will explain the options for diagnosis and treatment and their related costs.

You may require an x-ray to ensure that we have the full picture of your emergency dental treatment.

We will only give treatment once you are happy with our suggestions and we promise to do so in a manner that will ensure that you are relaxed throughout.

Are emergency dentists in Bracknell expensive?

The cost of your emergency dental care in and around Berkshire will depend on the nature of your emergency. We will always discuss costs with you before treatment and we offer interest free finance packages for some treatments.

Appointments for emergency dental treatment should be made as quickly as possible after an incident. We have more information about emergency dental care costs and a finance calculator on our fees page.

Urgent root canal treatment

I recently needed an urgent root canal treatment, where I had a long-standing infection under a crown which my previous dental practice had not spotted.

Pav at Crown Wood did a fabulous job of carrying out the root canal without damaging the original crown. Very professional whilst managing to keep me relaxed throughout treatment, including step by step information on what he was doing which was very reassuring.

I've now switched dentists to the Crown Wood practice and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Specialist emergency treatment

I went for an NHS specialist dental appointment. I was kept well informed and was impressed by the speed with which the (emergency) appointment was made.
