This week is Sun Awareness Week 🌞 which is part of the British Association of Dermatologists’ annual campaign to raise awareness around sun protection and skin cancer. Sun Awareness Week 2025 will be from 12th May to 18th May and you can find out more about it here: https://www.skinhealthinfo.org.uk/sun-awareness/
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK and is usually caused by exposure to UV rays from the sun over time. There are two main categories of skin cancer – melanoma and non-melanoma. Melanoma is diagnosed by a dermatologist after a patient notices an abnormality in a mole.
If you would like a skin cancer screening check or have any concerns at all about your skin or moles, then please book an appointment to see Dr Benjamin Lee, our highly qualified dermatologist.
Your skin cancer screening appointment will include:
✏️A 30 minute examination including manual lesion mapping with dermatoscopy
✏️ CryoPen treatment available on the spot for any pre-cancerous, superficial skin lesions (subject to additional fee)
✏️Clinical and Dermatoscopic pictures will be taken of any lesion at your discretion, uploaded to your mobile device on the day
To book your appointment with Dr Lee please call Lisa Bonello, our Patient Care Co-Ordinator on ☎ 01344 300 417 or 07765 333 768 📧 or email Lisa at pc@crownwooddental.co.uk
